ABOUT SPAYGEORGIA'S LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CERTIFICATES
SpayGeorgia provides low-cost spay or neuter certificates in Georgia at an affordable price intended for people who need partial financial assistance in order to have their pets spayed or neutered. By having your pet spayed or neutered, you are acting responsibly as part of the solution to the tragedy of pet overpopulation.
Each spay/neuter certificate covers the cost of routine spay/neuter surgery, including preparation for surgery, anesthesia, the spay/neuter procedure, routine hospitalization as required, and removal of stitches if necessary. Vaccinations, testing for diseases, deworming, and all other medical procedures are not covered by the certificate, and you are responsible for payment for these services.
While SpayGeorgia is a low-cost program, it is not a free program.
YOU CAN HELP SAVE LIVES
SpayGeorgia receives no federal, state, county, or other governmental funding. We depend completely on volunteers and donations. Your tax-deductible donation is vital. We cannot provide lost cost spay/neutering without it.

SPAYGEORGIA'S LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM GUIDELINES
USING YOUR CERTIFICATE
Please observe the following guidelines when using your certificate(s).
01. SPAY/NEUTER CERTIFICATES
SpayGeorgia’s low-cost spay/neuter certificates cannot be combined with any other spay/neuter certificates, coupons, or discounts.
Certificates become void six months after the date of issue.
If you have other questions about our certificates, call us at 800-706-7081.
02. APPOINTMENTS
Make an appointment for spaying or neutering only with a veterinarian who is on the list that is included in your certificate(s) packet.
When you call for your appointment:
- Please ask what vaccinations the clinic requires in order to perform the surgery.
- If your pet is not current on these vaccinations, find out how much the clinic charges for these vaccinations, as you are responsible for these costs.
03. PRE-SURGICAL
Your veterinary clinic will provide pre-surgical advice that you should follow. In general, avoid giving your adult dog or cat any food after midnight the night before surgery. A puppy or kitten, however, needs adequate nutrition, and your veterinarian may advise that food not be withheld.
04. CLINIC VISIT
When you arrive at the vet clinic for your appointment:
- Present the spay/neuter certificate to the receptionist.
- As well as proof that your pet is current on any required vaccinations (if applicable).
Veterinarians may decline to provide services to a pet due to its medical condition.
Veterinary clinics may assess an additional fee to spay a pet if she is pregnant or in heat. They may also assess a fee for large dogs. You are responsible for paying these fees, if applicable.
05. POST-SURGERY
Your veterinarian will provide post-operative instructions for you to follow. Below are aftercare instructions for the first 24 hours after surgery from the Animal Humane Society:
- Allow your pet to recover in a quiet, safe place indoors.
- Be aware that your pet’s behavior may be slightly altered in the first 24 hours after surgery. For example, they may be glassy-eyed, sleepy, nauseous, wobbly, vocal, shivering, or irritable.
- Encourage frequent movement indoors to help your pet recover from the anesthesia. Allowing them to rest uninterrupted will result in longer recovery and potential complications.
- Offer small amounts of the food they eat regularly and water later in the evening. Your pet may feel nauseous, and it can take up to 48 hours for their appetite to return to normal
